Jake is our new dachshund. He is not so new to the world but new to us.
Jake was found by a wonderful college lady where he was living on the front porch of a burned down house. The college lady alerted Almost Home Dachshund Rescue who in turn rescued the dachshund with her and her friends help. I was to keep this homeless dachshund until transfer to a foster home. I am not a good short term foster parent and ended up keeping him. Long story short, Jake is now part of our family.

Jake is about 5 lbs heavier than George. It took George a bit to get use to sharing his toys and attention. Laura immediately liked Jake and this is good since she is the top dog. I do have to keep our shoes in a closed closet because Jake seems to enjoy a good shoe chew now and then. Jake is slowly realizing this is his new home. He has some separation anxiety but it is less every week.
Let's say Mark and I are very happy with Jake.
